Dr. Chris O’Sullivan is a social psychologist who has been conducting research on men’s violence against women for several decades, including sexual assault, human trafficking and domestic violence. Initially, she focused on the social structures in cultures of masculinity that promoted such violence and exploitation. More recently, her research has focused on domestic violence, particularly on civil and criminal justice responses. She has conducted five studies, most funded by the National Institute of Justice, on family court treatment of child custody and visitation when there is a history of domestic violence.
